Global Comparative Analysis of Renewable Energy Project Social Acceptance

Abstract

Renewable energy initiatives need public support to adopt and sustain clean energy technology. Renewable energy infrastructure is good for the environment and economy, but many social, cultural, and political factors can affect its growth. an international analysis of public opinion on renewable energy projects, examining what drives support or opposition in different countries. Case studies from industrialized and emerging countries illuminate the relationship between public opinion, local pushback, policy, and stakeholder involvement in societal acceptance. investigates how environmental concerns, economic opportunities, cultural values, and government trust affect wind, solar, and hydropower. This study identifies social acceptance criteria to address public concerns and encourage community engagement in renewable energy projects. The findings emphasize the importance of understanding local settings, incorporating stakeholders early in the planning process, and spreading the benefits of renewable energy projects to gain social acceptance. Getting people to use renewable energy is a challenge and an opportunity.
