Abstract

Sports media represents one of the most prominent forms of mass communication that profoundly influences collective consciousness by presenting various types of athletic content. This is especially evident given the widespread proliferation of modern technologies that have made sports a daily commodity accessible to all societal segments. Football matches, in particular, stand out as the most engaging athletic activity for children, forming a significant part of both their imaginary and real worlds during a developmental stage that serves as the solid foundation for future personality construction. It is during this period that core values, which guide individual behavior and social interactions, are established.

Since the media, including sports media, plays a pivotal role in the socialization process, its impact on the children's value system becomes a subject worthy of rigorous research and analysis. Accordingly, this study aims to understand the nature of the relationship between sports media content directed at children, specifically football matches, and the values acquired by these children as a result of their exposure to and consumption of this type of media.
