The Role of Pragmatics in Analyzing Arabic Texts at the Fifth-Grade Primary Level
Main Article Content
Abstract
University research laboratories continually strive to devise new teaching methods, approaches, and curricula, seeking to facilitate the acquisition of the Arabic language and engagement with its meanings, and to keep pace with a generation that now rides and confronts every technological development of its time.
From this standpoint, the purpose of this study is to find a method for teaching and analyzing Arabic texts at the fifth-grade primary level that helps learners achieve an ideal understanding of texts and respond to them, by incorporating the modern pragmatic approach.
This approach targets the communicative function of language and attends to implicit meanings, speech acts, and discourse contexts in a manner suited to the learners’ level and degree of comprehension at this stage of primary education, a stage at which learners’ thinking is especially fertile for acquiring new knowledge that facilitates their studies.
