Abstract
Emotional intelligence (EI) has emerged as a critical factor influencing managerial decision-making in contemporary organizations. Defined as the ability to perceive, understand, regulate, and utilize emotions effectively, EI enables managers to navigate complex interpersonal dynamics and make balanced, informed decisions. This study examines the role of emotional intelligence in enhancing the quality of managerial decisions, particularly in environments characterized by uncertainty, pressure, and diverse stakeholder interests. key components of emotional intelligence—self-awareness, self-regulation, motivation, empathy, and social skills—and their impact on decision-making processes. Managers with high EI are better equipped to manage stress, avoid impulsive judgments, and consider both rational and emotional aspects of a situation. This leads to more thoughtful, ethical, and context-sensitive decisions. Additionally, emotionally intelligent managers are more effective in conflict resolution, team management, and communication, which further supports sound decision-making. Empirical evidence suggests that EI contributes to improved organizational outcomes by enhancing leadership effectiveness, employee engagement, and workplace relationships. It also plays a significant role in reducing biases, improving risk assessment, and fostering collaborative problem-solving.
